This week, we’d like to shine the spotlight on our friend, Julie, from Julie Nicole Photography! Julie recently donated a wonderful prize package to one lucky winner, for a FREE family photo session! If you have not yet checked out her Facebook page, you definitely should. Julie does AMAZING work, including maternity and newborn.
Here are some highlights from a recent interview we had with Julie
I offer a wide range of photography services including Weddings, Birth, newborn, trash the dress, boudoir, maternity, modeling, headshots, cake smash, families, and more. I offer sessions at home in my studio or on location in the tri-cities. I will travel for weddings and sessions as well.
My Studio has a private change room and washroom for clients, a full service 2 station hair salon and makeup station. I have prop closets packed to the hilt with lots of goodies for any session including wardrobe for specialty, vintage and boudoir sessions.
I have been in the hair styling industry for over 12 years and I have owned my own salon for 6 years. I finally realized that I wanted to take photography to the next level when I was starting to take my own photos for the salon, and for modeling shoots. I continued to study and read as much as I could to learn how to start a photography business and how it could work with my salon. To my amazement not only did it work, but it has been an amazing fit. I love being able to work from my home while still being a wife and mom to my three children who are 4, 6 and 2 months old. It had been a dream of mine my whole life to work for myself and be able to be creative, and here I am doing it.
I would say my favorite part of owning my own business is that I can be a lot more flexible for my family needs and the needs of my clients. I love meeting new people every day and learning about their stories. I love being able to be apart of people’s special memories and experiencing it with them. It is am exciting fun job and I am looking forward to what this new year brings.
A funny share from a recent photography session would be the fact that I got peed and pooped on. lol you will be happy to know that is was a wee little 7 day old newborn. This is just one of the “real” moments that I get to be apart of. lol It sure is funny to watch mom and dads face as poop runs down my arms. I would not change it for the world though. I love LOVE what I get to do everyday.
